[Wednesday, January 10, 2024- ROCHESTER, NY] College Town Rochester is pleased to announce the opening of Joy Mart Grocery Store & Café offering prepared foods, grocery items and specialty beverages. Stop in and explore all the options available for the first time at College Town, located at 1347 Mount Hope Ave..

Joy Mart is open 7 days a week, Sunday – Thursday from 8:30 am – 9:00 pm.; Friday-Saturday from 8:30 am – 9:30 pm.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Joy Mart to our College Town community. Their offerings bring new flavors, space to enjoy meals, and products not available locally until now,” said Cass McCrory, marketing director at College Town Rochester.

Owner Yaofang (Vicki) Liang, an alumna of the University’s Warner School of Education, shared: “I’m very excited to open and give greater access to the specialty items that I’ve missed over the years. We have dumplings from China, noodles from Korea, matcha cake from Japan, and panna cotta drinks from Italia. Our grocery section carries items from China, Korea, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam. I hope to see students, faculty, staff and community members enjoying familiar tastes, as well as new to them favorites.”

University of Rochester Global Offices Will Relocate to College Town

ROCHESTER, NY – The University’s Global Offices—Global Engagement, International Services Office (ISO), and the English Language Program—will relocate from River Campus to new space in College Town, with the transition starting early in the fall semester.

“This new space presents an opportunity to better serve the University’s growing international populations of students, faculty, staff and visitors,” says Jane Gatewood, vice provost for global engagement. “For the first time, all of these units will be on three floors in the same building in new modern spaces that will be much more welcoming and functional for everyone.”

The new offices will have an entrance off of Celebration Drive. The main reception area and the English Language Program classroom will be on the first floor, ISO on the second floor, and Global Engagement on the third.

The College Town Express shuttle runs from River Campus and the Medical Center to College Town every 20 minutes during the week between 11:05 a.m. and 3:05 p.m.  That, along with the other University shuttles with stops at or near College Town (including the Blue and Brown lines), should make this new location for the Global Offices easily accessible by all.  There is also free customer parking at College Town.

ROCHESTER, NY – Gilbane Development Company and Fairmount Properties announce the forthcoming opening of Taichi Bubble Tea at the corner location of Mt. Hope Avenue and Celebration Drive at College Town.

Taichi Bubble Tea currently has four locations in the region and looks to open this new location at College Town with expanded offerings including Ramen in addition to their Taichi Burrito, Rice Bowls, Salad Bowls and Bubble Tea in early 2018.

Get into the holiday spirit with us on Saturday, December 9th at College Town!

Deck the Town is a free event for the Rochester community to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season. From 4 PM to 7 PM this Saturday, join us for horse-drawn wagon rides, a hot chocolate bar, and plenty of cheer at College Town, all free of charge. Hot pretzels and kettle corn will be served, and holiday carols will be performed by local choral groups. At the Barnes & Noble University of Rochester location, Santa Claus will be making an appearance to write down holiday wishes, and children of all ages can get a printed photo with Saint Nick.

As this year draws to a close, we are grateful for the continued support of the Rochester community and we are eager to welcome new businesses such as Taichi Bubble Tea, T Mobile, and many others to our community in 2018.

University of Rochester to expand Patient Services in College Town Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY. – (May 8, 2017) – University of Rochester Medical Center will expand patient services in College Town Rochester next year with more than 20,000 square feet of leased space on Celebration Drive. Patients will benefit from first-floor access and close proximity to free parking, both in the garage and the large surface lot behind Barnes & Noble.

In addition to patient services, administrative and other University services may be added to this space, which was formerly Constantino’s Market.

“We’re thrilled to have the University of Rochester build on its presence at College Town with new services. We’re excited to offer patients and visitors free parking in addition to easy access to a number of complementing businesses, including places to dine and the newly opened CVS,” said Cass McCrory, Director of Marketing for College Town Rochester.

“The Medical Center is growing each year as our doctors and nurses across a wide range of clinical service areas care for more patients,” said Mary Ockenden, Associate Vice President and Director of Space Planning for URMC. “We are pleased that College Town can provide cost-effective space that will be convenient for patients, visitors and staff members while helping us to meet the increased demand for clinical care.” Ockenden said details about which practices or service areas will use the space will be announced in the next few months, with occupancy expected by the middle of 2018.

College Town Announces Changes

College Town continues to experience exciting growth on a number of fronts. “We have been extraordinarily fortunate in the tenants College Town has attracted, and equally excited for the community gathering place College Town has become, attracting tens of thousands of visitors to our events and programming in the first year alone,” said Randy Ruttenberg of Fairmount Properties.

The Hilton Garden Inn at College Town and its restaurant, Grappa, continue to exceed their expectations. The Barnes & Noble University of Rochester Bookstore now serves as the community’s bookstore, bringing such things as children’s story hour and author events to the market.

The restaurant selection provides every conceivable international cuisine anyone could desire and there is a nice cluster of tenants geared toward health, fitness and relaxation, including breathe Yoga, Rochester Running Company and Michael Spitale Salon & Spa. Within the next 60 days, Bar 145 and Texas de Brazil will be opening their doors to great anticipation, and this fall, CVS will be opening a brand new 14,500 square-foot store at the corner of Mt. Hope and Crittenden. Our 154 residential units, Mount Hope Lofts, reached 100% occupancy within the first six months, mostly consisting of young professionals.
